Less clutter. More drying space. The right dish drainer gives plates, bowls, glasses and cutlery a convenient place to dry without taking over your kitchen worktop.
Start by measuring the space beside your sink, then compare the rack’s layout with the washing-up you do most often. This guide compares three TheOwnas designs: a tall two-tier rack available in black or white, a two-tier rack with a removable top section and a lower single-tier model.
Compare the Three Dish Drainer Designs
The dimensions below follow the supplied product diagrams. Length and depth describe the marked base footprint; height describes the marked overall height. Check whether side accessories extend beyond these measurements when planning your space.
| Design | Length | Depth | Height |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tall two-tier rack — black or white | 52 cm | 25.5 cm | 29 cm |
| Two-tier rack with removable top section | 45.5 cm | 35.5 cm | 22 cm |
| Single-tier rack | 47 cm | 35.5 cm | 12 cm |
Measure Your Worktop and Overhead Clearance
Measure both the length and depth of your available drying area. A rack can fit along the worktop but still project too far towards the front edge or sink.
Check nearby taps, sockets and appliances, and leave room to remove the drip tray for emptying and cleaning.
If the rack will sit beneath a cupboard, allow space for plates standing in the upper tier. The rack’s empty height does not include the dishes you place in it.
Tall Two-Tier Rack: Black or White
This design provides two levels of drying space within a marked footprint of 52 × 25.5 cm, with an overall height of 29 cm.
The supplied diagram also marks the upper rack at 48.5 cm long and the space between tiers at 17.5 cm. These are separate measurements from the base footprint.
The upper section provides slots for plates, while the lower level offers space for other suitable washing-up. The drip tray collects water beneath the rack, and the side utensil holder keeps cutlery together.
Black and white are colour choices for this model. Choose the finish that suits your kitchen after checking its dimensions and layout.

Two-Tier Rack with a Removable Top Section
This model has a marked base footprint of 45.5 × 35.5 cm and an assembled height of 22 cm. The supplied diagram marks 12 cm between levels.
Use the upper plate rack mounted above the base for two-tier drying, or remove it and use the two sections separately. The detached top section provides a separate place for plates, while the lower rack remains available for other washing-up.
This flexible arrangement lets you adapt the drying layout to your available space. When using the sections separately, allow extra worktop space and place the detached plate rack on a suitable draining surface to collect drips.
The lower section includes a drip tray and cutlery holder. This model is shorter along the worktop than the tall two-tier design, but deeper, so measure both directions before choosing.

Single-Tier Rack: A Lower Profile
The single-tier model has a marked footprint of 47 × 35.5 cm and a height of 12 cm.
It keeps the drying layout on one level, with plate slots and a side cutlery holder. Its lower profile is worth considering where overhead space is limited.
Remember that upright plates will extend above the rack itself. Check the clearance with your usual dishes in mind.

Choose for Your Everyday Washing-Up
- Frequent plate washing: Compare the plate slots with the size and shape of your dishes.
- Mugs, glasses and bowls: Check the available flat drying area and clearance between tiers.
- Limited worktop depth: Compare the 25.5 cm-deep tall model with the two 35.5 cm-deep designs.
- Limited overhead space: Compare the lower designs, allowing extra height for upright dishes.
- Flexible layout: Consider the removable-top model, which can be used stacked or as two separate sections.
A two-tier rack is not automatically the right choice for every kitchen. Match the layout to the space you have and the items you regularly wash.
Keep the Drip Tray and Rack Clean
Empty collected water regularly and clean the drip tray, rack and cutlery holder according to the supplied care instructions.
Do not assume a tray drains directly into the sink unless the product specifically includes that feature. Avoid abrasive cleaning methods that could damage a protective coating.
